Yangam  19th Century
Lama cupboard used to protect and hold prosperity

The rare and auspicious cupboard, is created in the same form as the Thorgam, However these Yangam's are decorated with a more peaceful decoration than the Thorgam. Normally used to store precious family treasures, and ritual items thought to bring pleasure to the deities, and ultimately, peace to the family.

Tibetans believe their good luck is contained in the Yangam and that if the doors are opened more than once a year, good luck and prosperity will escape.
Thorgams and Yangams would have been found in Tibetan monasteries, and shrine rooms of wealthy Tibetan households. All rituals concerning the use of both Thorgam and Yangam would have been performed by a Holy Lama.

Monks folding tables used to hold sacred prayers - pair

19 century  'standing' tables, usually 3 sides. An open back  allows sitting 'under the table to say prayers. Thought to be useful during travel  - as the 'legs' fold up into themselves, making for a simple wooden shelf to allow for a nomadic lifestyle. These stand-like tables will have a front, two sides, and a top, but are without any kind of back.  Some of these backless tables may have a bar or a shelf which holds the sides rigid, but often there is nothing. Tables like these were commonly used in monasteries
